Berog Consulting

Sustainable development
alignment

Berog is a community strategy and operations consultancy in Accra. Our work — designing how organisations engage the communities they answer to, and building the systems that sustain that engagement — contributes directly to three Sustainable Development Goals, and our consultants bring evidenced contributions to four more.

Through our consulting work

SDG 4

Quality Education

Target 4.4 — relevant skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

Our consultants built and ran the learning community function serving 80,000+ learners at ALX Ghana, sustaining 96% programme completion among retained learners across three consecutive years.

SDG 8

Decent Work and Economic Growth

Target 8.6 — reducing the proportion of young people not in employment, education or training.

Our engagement and operations work strengthens the organisations that deliver youth skills and employment pathways in West Africa.

SDG 17

Partnerships for the Goals

Target 17.9 — effective, targeted capacity-building.

Every Berog engagement ends in transfer: documented systems, trained staff, tools the client owns outright, and an exit plan agreed on day one. We do not build dependency.

Through our consultants' contributions

SDG 5

Gender Equality

Co-development of Ashesi University's first diversity and inclusion framework, formally adopted and still in institutional use. Co-design of an institution-wide sexual misconduct awareness curriculum, retained as a permanent component of student orientation. Delivery support for training equipping 50 young women with STEM and production skills. Field research programming with women cocoa growers and women-owned shea butter cooperatives. Desk research for a national study on the representation of adolescent girls in Ghanaian media.

SDG 10

Reduced Inequalities

Target 10.2 — inclusion irrespective of disability.

Skills training delivered to participants including members of the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations. Fund administration and transition curricula for 150+ Mastercard Foundation Scholars from 15+ African countries.

SDG 12

Responsible Consumption and Production

Target 12.5 — waste reduction through recycling and reuse.

Delivery support for recycled-plastics production skills training. Coaching a university venture team to national runner-up in the Students Packaging Research and Innovation Challenge, on creating commercial value from post-consumer plastic waste.

SDG 6

Clean Water and Sanitation

Three cohorts of the NYU Stern Service-Learning Programme in Woadze-Tsatoe, Volta Region, in partnership with Adanu, delivering community programmes in education, clean water and sanitation.
